  Features and Benefits
  • Full Version
  • OEM
Differences between the OEM and retail version of Windows XP are the following:
    • Retail version comes in a fancy box. OEM does not.
    • Retail version contains a printed manual. OEM comes with an instruction booklet.
    • Customers who purchase the retail version are eligible for tech support from Microsoft.
    • Retail version offers the option to do a "Quick Install" or a "Clean Install." OEM version offers the "Clean Install" option only. However, performing a "Clean Install" is HIGHLY recommended.
    • The OEM version costs approximately $100-$150 less than the retail version.

  • Increase Productivity at Work
From its fresh, new look to its more intuitive, task-based design, Windows® XP Professional will make your computing experience easier than it has ever been. Now you will be able to get more done in less time, find items in a snap, and arrange files and folders in a way that makes sense to you. Simply put, Windows XP Professional helps you work smarter.

  • Stay Connected¹Anytime, Anyplace
With tools to keep you connected to the Internet, and to your co-workers, customers, files, and applications, Windows® XP Professional keeps you in touch¹even when you're away from work. Windows XP Professional is the most advanced operating system ever created for laptops, which means you can get as much work done on the road as you can in your office. New, real-time communication capabilities in Windows XP Professional take you way beyond e-mail, giving you even more options for working remotely.

  • Rock-Solid Foundation
Starting with the proven Windows® 2000 code base, Windows XP Professional delivers new enhancements to help keep your data secure and maintain your privacy. It is compatible with much of today's popular hardware and software and ready to take advantage of the newest innovations. With its rock-solid foundation and ground breaking new features, Windows XP Professional will not quit working, even when your workday is done.

  • Windows XP Service Pack 2
Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional with Service Pack 2 (SP2) includes a collection of software updates that improve on the Windows XP operating system since its general availability in October 2001.
